Earth Angel
A short film unpacking the outsider experience in Brooklyn, finding free expression through dance. Dancer and choreographer Evan Sagadencky explores the feeling of emotional distance from a hostile world — performing the urge to live in the moment, unafraid of being seen.
"I have been inspired by the Myrtle Broadway stop in Brooklyn for a while. We love that you can see people dancing in the window of the club, while the trains move in front of it. The end of the platform almost feels like a stage."
Timing his choreography with the movement of the trains, Sagadencky enters a natural rhythm with the station platform, and the world as it passes. Dressed in wings, yet pushing against the traditional image of an "angel", he embodies an expressive, chaotic energy with a powerful presence — living unapologetically as a stand-in for belonging.
